Tekion Accounts Payable Integration Fact Sheet

Over the last month with 100% of our CDK customers being impacted by their ransomware attack, many of our users have reached out and inquired about alternatives and even asked if they can speak with accounting teams on other DMS. We currently have active single and multi-entity dealership groups on CDK, DealertrackReynolds, and Tekion. Many have been asking about our integration capabilities with the emerging DMS Tekion.

As with any new technology there are a lot of unknowns, we’d like to clear up any misconceptions and questionable terminology that’s flying around regarding AP Automation companies and their current capabilities.

In a nutshell: There is currently NO fully bi-directional syncing integration with Tekion.

There are several folks advertising an integration to Tekion for automating payments.  Our product and engineering teams have been in discussions with Tekion for months to integrate and here is what Tekion’s product, partnership, and engineering teams have shared:

There is not a single product, competitor, or Accounts Payable Solution that can post a direct ledger entry. In fact, there is no API that exists yet to GET Vendors or Invoices. All platforms advertising an integration are using the following workflow.

  • User starts in Tekion and marks the bills they want to pay by a specially created account
  • Tekion back-end has a trigger (that runs once daily) to send all records marked paid by this account to a web hook that the 3rd party platform can grab
  • AP platform remits payments for the records that were marked to be paid

This is not really an integration. It’s in essence a one way flat-file type integration.

Tekion’s roadmap includes a publicly accessible API to enroll 3rdparty apps to use this same workflow. ETA on this is Q1 2025. Q4 2025 should have API capability to GET all Vendors, Bills, and Accounts. Q1-Q2 2026 is when 3rd party applications can complete the payments workflow in its entirety by being able to POST the payment for the bills they have paid. Also, you’ll have the ability to create bills, credits, accounts, and vendors via API.

So, no one currently has a true integration with Tekion the way Rewardworks has integrations with Dealertrack or CDK.

We do have a number of customers we have built and configured a custom report inside Tekion that Rewardworks can ingest easily and payments can then be made with Rewardworks…and we have some other ideas up our sleeve that if you are moving to Tekion and are open to letting us explore a couple different methods to get the data from Tekion into Rewardworks we’d love to chat.

For those being sold by others a “full Tekion Integration” through compelling and distinct tools like CloudXNvoicepay, or Yooz it’s not what your users have experienced with our real-time bi-directional integrations.

It has been a chaotic time, and the last thing we want to see is our customers jumping into a solution that is not quite what it appears. We would be happy to have a discussion and answer questions for ANYONE who may be interested in exploring their options further.
